About Lab

The lab focuses on systematics, taxonomy, evolution and bioacoustics of insects, especially in crickets (Orthoptera). Based on morphology, molecules, bioacoustics and behavioral data, the lab examines the species identity and understands evolution of acoustic signal pattern and morphology, in a phylogenetic framework. The research in lab also includes field work throughout India with a focus on discovery and documentation of Crickets diversity.
